Prerequisites
This class concentrates on hand-coding XHTML documents so WYSIWYG (FrontPage) programs are strongly discouraged. An HTML editor like Homesite or BBedit will aid students in creating their XHTML documents, but is not required. At minimum, the student will need a text editor like Notepad (Windows) or SimpleText (Macintosh).
Students should have at least two browsers installed on their computer. Current versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari, or Mozilla are recommended.
Requirements
Students must have webspace where they can post their assignments. Ideally try to avoid webspaces that support banner ads or popup adds as this adds code to your pages.

How eClasses Work:Instructors post lectures (text-based, no video or audio), reading selections, and hands-on assignments once a week in the online classroom. Students can discuss the assignments with the instructor and amongst themselves in the classroom area. This format has no set meeting time, which allows students to attend class at a time most convenient to them, yet still provides logically organized communication between class participants. Students can apply for the completion certificate after finishing the class. |
